Check it out--I have my Postcard from Sweden top done! I made the bigger version so it is 60" x 72". I just signed up to take a walking foot quilting class for two days over my spring break the first week in April. I think I will wait to quilt this until my class because maybe I can get a great idea. I have never been a big fan of solids, but I have to say I love this!
I have lots of Kona leftovers from my kit, so I am thinking of starting another project with them. This free pattern has been tempting me to put them to use.
I just have not been able to decide between a white or a gray background.
I am keeping up with my blocks of the month and I have a secret project for the Fat Quarter Shop in the dryer right now--I get to reveal it on Thursday.
I have labels to embroider for Slow Sunday Stitching
and Monday off, so maybe I will start something new!
I have loved that Postcards quilt ever since it came out Yours is GORGEOUS!! I don't know how you get so much done!
ReplyDeleteI love the postcard Quilt and I also want to make it. The funny thing is, I also have the real postcard from the Swedish shop and thought from the very beginning about making a quilt like this. *ggg*
ReplyDeleteLooking forward for your secret project
Greetings from Germany

Your Postcards look as sunny as this spring Daylight Savings morning! What fun! I vote white for the background of the 'bonus' quilt. This might be the turning point for you, where you fall in love with solids! =)
ReplyDeleteBright, Bold and Beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteTanya, your Postcards quilt top is just gorgeous, and your plans for the leftovers, too! I really love all that color!
ReplyDeleteI made a Postcards quilt, too. It's one of my most favorite quilts!! I am flattered you like my Kona solids quilt. 😊I think it would look amazing with a gray backgroound!

ReplyDeleteYay for a finished flimsy! Tanya, this looks wonderful! I think 'how to quilt this' is on all of our minds, whether we have the top finished or are at the sewing HSTs (no names mentioned ahem) stage!
ReplyDeletePostcard From Sweden is beautiful. I sometimes fear solids, that my mistakes will be more apparent, lol. Yours looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh, I meant your quilt is perfect. Not implying or saying that you have mistakes.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that gorgeous?! For those who don't use many solids, this is the perfect quilt to make!
ReplyDeleteLove your Postcards top! All solids quilts have become my fave. Good luck with your walking foot class. I love walking foot quilting. I hope you have fun and enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteYour Postcard from Sweden turned out so nice! I love your colors! Great idea for the left-overs. I wonder if your light blues and lavendars would disappear agains a gray if you chose that instead of white?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing Postcard from Sweden. It looks awesome.
