Retreat Day 2

Retreat Day 2 was much more productive than Day 1--no field trip meant more time at the sewing machine. I got my whole Strawberry Social top pieced with borders on! This is a Pattern Basket pattern http://thepatternbasket.blogspot.com but I chose to use a navy Kona background. Each strawberry is a different fabric with no repeats.
Mary finished this sweet orange peel top. She bought the fabric on Friday on our field trip to the Golden Quilt Company and completed it this morning.
I am working on my girl alphabet embroidery blocks before we head for home...Slow Sunday Stitching
Yesterday, we had incredible homemade cinnamon rolls. We split the meals and ate amazing food all weekend. Time to head back to reality!

  1. Love the strawberries, Tanya. They look great on a navy background, I never would have thought to do that. I would have immediately pulled some white. Good choice :)

Hope you had fun at the retreat.

  9. Love that navy background on the strawberry quilt. I'm always fascinated by quilts using a dark background ... I don't know why I haven't made a quilt using a dark background. ???

  26. Oh, this quilt is adorable! I love it! I just started quilting - really quilting this summer. I bought Lori's book - and I am having a blast. My daughter moved to CO last year and LOVES it. She is begging us to move there. I'm a teacher, too. I'm off to look over your pages.
