I tried to make the best of my day off today! I got my sewing machine cover completed. It fits both of my sewing machines.
Here it is doing its other task as a mat with pockets. I have my baby, a 1961 Singer Featherweight, in minty white on it. My Pfaff fits into a drop down sewing machine cabinet, so this will be mostly for traveling. We have a retreat in a couple of weeks and I am excited to try it out.
The design comes from Lori Holt's book, Quilty Fun.
Between football yesterday and sewing with the girls this morning, I got one of my "Journey of a Quilter" blocks done.
I also started on another block from "Journey of a Quilter." I also took care of a couple of errands and started preparing my projects for our upcoming retreat. Val from http://myplvl.blogspot.com just e-mailed me that she is featuring one of my posts on her link party tomorrow, so be sure and pay her blog a visit. There is always great eye candy and fabulous organizational tips!
Jealous you got today off....LOL!!...but glad it was so productive!! V:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sewing machine cover! I love the pockets in it too :)
ReplyDeleteLovely work Tanya. A day off well spent.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to make it for double duty! I really need to make myself a machine cover one of these days.
ReplyDeleteI love your little white featherweight. I'm on the hunt for one. Cute sewing machine cover. I want to do a Lori Holt project on my vintage Singer. Her style seems so fitting to work on with a vintage machine. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt is simple but so handy, colorful and beautiful. I love this. Great idea! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove from Amsterdam
This cover is so darn cute. I have enjoyed its progress as well as Journey of a Quilter : )
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! First, I love your new machine cover to start with, and then to see that it does double duty as a pocketed mat - too cool. :) love your progress on the stitching blocks, and it still fascinates me that it's done through the batting.
ReplyDeleteCute that the cover doubles as a sewing tool holder for your Featherweight. Great Featherweight too!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love your sewing machine cover! Would really like to make a couple for "my boys" (that's what I call my machines), but just cannot find the time...I think your cover has inspired me to make the time, instead of finding it! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cheerful cover. I love that it doubles as a pocketed mat.
ReplyDeleteCute, and so clever that it has two purposes. I wish I had been able to take off, but alas, had to work.
ReplyDeleteNice cover/mat combo! I've never seen a white featherweight! It looks like it's in pristine condition!
ReplyDeleteWow that sewing maching cover and mat is awesome! Not only is it adorable, but it has a double function--with pockets, no less! I think I'm going to have to try to make one. One of these days :) Thank you for the inspiration!
ReplyDelete*matching cover. (sorry--I don't like typos but I didn't catch that one until after I posted it) :)
