Christmas Quilting Loot

Is it just me or do you love baskets and bags too? Several months ago, my daughter and I were in the Vitamin Cottage/Natural Food Grocers and I stopped to admire the lovely woven African baskets. I already had a circular one that was a gift from a friend years ago, but I mentioned how much I like the oval shape. Well, my disinterested teen was listening and purchased me one as a Christmas present. It will definitely be my go to quilting basket.

It has lots of interior room, but is not bulky. Looks like the perfect survival bag to me!

Really the only person who gives me quilting supplies is my mom. Every now and then hubby will deliver a gift card, but he does not buy me any specifics. Mom and dad gave me this lovely quilt kit featuring a Marmalade layer cake from Bonnie and Camille and Bonnie's pattern, "Star Blossoms."

I am going to try to restrain myself and not start this quilt until I get some of my UFOs completed! This will take a great deal of determination!

My mom and dad also gave me this portable OttLite. I had never thought of getting one, but now that I have one and am using it I wonder how I did so much hand work without it!

My parents also gave me the Pattern Basket's "Strawberry Social" pattern and a kit to make it. Mom and I have been admiring this quilt since it came out over the summer. Again, I vow to save it until I get some other projects done!

I got some lovely other gifts for Christmas too, but the quilting ones are my favorites!

  3. I purchased one of those African baskets at a fruit market quite some time ago. It is sturdy and good for carrying quilt supplies.

  4. You did well for Christmas. Your family was certainly listening this time. Love your basket and the Ott like is something I have 2 of. I take it to retreats and day sewing with friends in case the lighting is not enough for these tired old eyes.
