Slow Stitching Sunday Playoffs

This is my last Season quilt. I inherited these BOM kits from my sister in April 2013. The pattern called for it to be a large quilt, but I had made my own set as a quilt for each season. I pieced it, quilted it, and bound it in less than 1 week.

The embroidery is with perle cotton and so is the primitive quilting.

Today for Slow Stitching Sunday during the playoff games, I am quilting this little door banner I started on a whim the other day. I should get it finished today and hanging on my door. I hope it does not look too Christmasy and is ok for January decorating. This was also a little kit that my sister gave me when she gave up quilting!

I am back to work tomorrow, but have been fairly productive with my two weeks off. I will get some more finishes posted soon!

  1. I like the fabric colors used for the setting of the stitched blocks.

  2. Love your primative quilt! Those colors are gorgeous. I'm quilting with perle cotton right now and I love it. One of my goals for this year is to make a quilt that has blocks of embroidery in it.

  3. That prim quilt is wonderful ... I'd like to try my hand at quilting with perle cotton one of these days. I love that banner ... I like to have a few wintery things that I can keep out after I take down all the Christmas stuff.

  6. Give up quilting? It would be easier to cut off my arms! :D Hope your sister is ok. I was not nearly as productive on my 2 weeks off but making up for it in the coming months. Thanks for sharing!

  8. I really love the top one. All those rich primitive fabrics and your stitching is so nice. It looks good quilted in perle. Nice to meet another stitcher. Stitching is my favorite thing to do.

  9. What a great idea to make the BOM up as separate seasonal mini quilts. I have to admit, I also really like doing embroidery with Perle.
