Beryl the Pearl Quilt Donation

On Saturday, I featured two quilts donated to our charity quilt drive from Bayougirl Quilts--they are gorgeous! Within an hour, Beryl the Pearl from Salt Lake City e-mailed me asking for my address because she had a quilt ready to donate. It arrived in the mail today and it is spectacular! My pictures do not show the beautiful turquoise it is--I really need to upgrade to a smart phone and start getting better pictures than my iPad does! I am not sure what the pattern is called, but my whole family is in love with it! It is made with two solids that I suspect are Kona.
The backing is another shade of turquoise and pieced--the wind was not cooperating, so I do not have a good picture of the back. The quilt is a nice and big--62 x 73 inches.
Striped bindings are my favorite and she has this striped fabric in shades of turquoise and blue for a perfect binding.
The quilt is perfectly stippled with a straight stitch for the borders. Zoom in and check out Beryl's precise machine quilting.
Beryl attached her sweet label too. Thank you, Beryl! Please visit Beryl over at her blog
to see some of her other amazing quilts.

I quilted two quilts on the longarm today and I am machine binding them this evening.

We are still seeking quilt donations. We are trying to provide a lap quilt (60 inches square or bigger and made from 100% cotton) for each resident of one of our local nursing homes--12 men and 50 women. We hope to present them as Christmas presents this year! If you are interested in donating a quilt or a quilt top please leave me a comment or e-mail me directly at mcsdces19(at)gmail(dot)com.

  1. Those with more quilting experience will be able to clarify for you but I believe Beryl has used a hounds tooth block to make her quilt top. Lovely 😊

  3. Beautifully done. I think the pattern is called Herring Bone. She executed it perfectly.
